What does “ATEX available” mean for load cells?

ATEX explosion-proof certification and why it matters for load cells used in hazardous oilfield zones.

ATEX is the European standard for equipment used in potentially explosive atmospheres. An ATEX-rated load cell, load pin, tension cell or indicator is certified safe to operate in hazardous oilfield zones — on rigs, around wellheads and in process areas where flammable gas may be present. GasOil supplies ATEX-available load monitoring — tensile links, load shackles, compression load cells, custom load pins, subsea tensile links and Dynaline / running-line monitors — for safe lifting and load measurement in classified areas.
